PostHeaderIcon The Relation Between Handshakes And Hypnosis

The handshake is no more a form of casual greeting. Today it is a great accessory to the hypnotist as it helps in the hypnosis of innocent people without them knowing they are being hypnotized. Once you learn the art of handshake induction, you can hypnotize anyone just with a handshake.

The word hypnosis brings to mind using a swinging pendulum or a trance voice to alter the state of the mind of the patient. However not only is hypnosis practiced in these media; even handshakes are an important part of hypnosis.

The handshake induction is a hypnotic induction technique that was developed by the master hypnotist Milton Erickson and depends greatly on the automatic mirroring that people have towards each other through courtesy and politeness of the handshake. It is basically because people tend to respond automatically to gestures of greeting that the handshake induction is so successful.

With the handshake induction, the patterns of a shaking a person’s hand is interrupted so that there is a moment of confusion that leads a person into a trance. Everyone falls into and out of trance states regularly in life and so with the handshake induction; you find a subtle form of rabid hypnosis. Once the induction is not put into use, the subject just snaps out of the trance.

Of all the handshakes inductions, Erickson’s is the most subtle and used one. It starts with a normal handshake where before separating, the hypnotist’s grip transforms to a light touch with the thumb while drawing his little finger away. He then brushes the subject’s hand with his middle finger to pass the touch to the little finger.

This makes the subject change their attention while the hypnotist shifts to a middle finger touch and then to the thumb. This attention arousal arrests the handshake withdrawal to create a sense of expectancy to the subject. The hypnotist then touches the undersurface of the wrist gently, like an upward push and then a slight downward touch.

Contact is then severed gently without the subject knowing it so that their hand is left neither up nor down. With the induction, the hypnotist leads the subject with suggestions or creates a lapse in the trance with further conversation. So this is a rough idea of how a handshake is used in hypnosis.

However, this is not an easy art to learn or an easy induction to achieve. There are simpler forms of handshake induction to learn; but this is the most effective of the lot. However if you wish to learn the handshake induction, it is better to practice to someone willing to get hypnotized. This is because this makes it easy for you to make all the small hand gestures run smoothly, without any hesitation before you actually try it out on someone who is unaware of your hypnotic ideas.

PostHeaderIcon The Different Types Of Hypnotherapy

There are two types of hypnotherapy that are used to handle different problems of clients. One deals with treating bad habits and the other, inborn fears and the root of the problem of the patient.

Though most of us think that hypnotherapy is reached after sessions with the hypnotherapist, everyone goes through some form of hypnosis or trance in everyday of their lives.

Those bouts of day dreaming while sitting idle, watching TV and driving the car are examples of trances a person goes through in a day. These trances are all brought about naturally by a person while it is with hypnotherapy that a person is deliberately guided into a trance by the hypnotherapist, physician or hypnotist.

Hypnotherapy is found in two forms; suggestion hypnotherapy and analytical hypnotherapy. In suggestion hypnotherapy, the power of suggestion is used through direct or indirect suggestion to stop a bad habit or to eliminate a fear. The patient will either be suggested directly to stop smoking or offered indirect suggestions through metaphors and stories to stop a habit.

This is a very effective, fast and powerful form of hypnotherapy to stop unhealthy habits. However there is the disadvantage of symptoms of the conditions experienced by the client returning after some time.

In the case of analytical hypnotherapy or hypnoanalysis, the cause of the patient’s issue is taken into consideration to find its cure. It is used to find out more about the experiences that had led to the fear or problem the patient is suffering from.

Once this is found out, there are different techniques that are used to release the specified issue. These issues may be physical issues like pain, hay fever or eczema or even emotional issues like fear and depression.

There are many advantages to this form of hypnotherapy. Here the likelihood of issues or symptoms returning is less as usually, the original cause is addressed. In addition to curing the issue, there is a chance of other connected issues getting cured through analytical hypnotherapy.

Sometimes, suggestion hypnotherapy is used in the approach for analytical hypnotherapy. With analytical hypnotherapy, there is usually an increase in self understanding, and helps in building a better relationship with a person. However there is one disadvantages to analytical hypnotherapy; being that you need to attend more sessions than needed for suggestion hypnotherapy.

When deciding to learn hypnotherapy, you find that the different schools of hypnotherapy use different approaches in hypnotherapy, and have specific labels for these approaches. You have to choose your school and your hypnotherapist depending on the type of hypnotherapy you want to learn and use.

However whichever be the type of hypnotherapy that is taught and used on a client, they all follow the same aim of making changes in the subconscious mind of the person. The subconscious mind is stronger than the conscious mind, and this is where you find the habits, instincts and urges that stem in a person. This is why hypnotherapy is resorted to bring a change in the subconscious mind of the person.

PostHeaderIcon The art of mastering the hypnotic gaze

The hypnotic gaze is very effective in hypnotizing a person. However this is an art that can be perfected with practice. You have to be self confident for your hypnotic gaze to produce an outcome from your subject.

One very important tool in hypnosis is the hypnotic gaze. The hypnotic gaze is not a gaze that you just shoot at a person so that they slump into a deep sleep, hypnotized. In fact, lots of skill and practice is required for one to master the perfect hypnotic gaze to create a hypnotic trance in the subject.

You learn the right hypnotic gaze just as you would a conversation. You have to use your language skills to create a hypnotic trance, and an outcome from it. On perfecting the hypnotic gaze, your audience won’t actually know what you are doing. The gaze may be detected when you look directly into their eyes. However with practice you will be able to perfect your hypnotic gaze so that it becomes more indirect and conversational without the audience actually realizing you are gazing at them.

The hypnotic gaze is not one that is induced through will power to make you fall into a trance. You have to gain the attention of the subject with direct eye contact which affects them in different levels to coax them into altered consciousness with your different signals.

You are not creating any overpowering force, mind controlling magnetism or any form of occult condition with your hypnotic gaze. You are just creating a natural effect with the natural effects of eye contact. You just absorb the attention of the person you are gazing at by obligating them to respond to your eye contact.

It is this obligation that creates the first trance response in the subject, and thus hypnotic induction. The second step in the hypnotic gaze is the tension it raises in the subject which in turn is a response from the subject. The increase in the tension build up in the subject, the more unconscious is the person’s thinking and the lower is the critical factor.

The unconscious way of thinking that develops here makes it possible for you to move into the suggestion or third phase of the hypnotic protocol. This is when you subtly suggest a hypnotic trance by accessing and sending out signals of hypnotic trance inviting the subject to do the same.

This is when you have to shift your eye contact from their eyes to the back of their eyes to make the subject think that they are not being looked at, but are being looked inside. This makes it look like you are in a trance, and that the subject has to follow your lead. Make sure you project good will when inducing your subject into a trance for their cooperation.

Be confident in your actions as without positive expectations, you will not get positive results from your hypnotic gaze. Avoid yawning, shifting of your gaze and fidgeting as this makes you nervous and just upsets your hypnotic gaze. It is the subject who has to show these signals while you build pressure in them with your hypnotic gaze so that they lose the will to escape and follow your instructions so that they agree with your suggestion at the right time.

PostHeaderIcon Use Hypnosis To Improve Concentration

Today’s increased stress in your day to day life may make you lose your memory. However with the help of hypnosis, it is now possible to improve your memory and also your concentration.

The increasing stress in life today makes most of us forget dates, anniversaries, phone numbers and even names. This poor memory is related to your concentration ability and can be affected by lack of sleep, diet, natural aging and stress. However today, with the help of a licensed hypnotherapist or by learning the skill of self hypnosis, it is possible to make all this a thing of the past.

When you speak of concentration, it infers to the ability of recalling information successfully, and helps detail the memory that is to be recalled. You find that concentration is heightened by emotional states that remain in your mind forever. There are some requirements to ensure that you develop a solid memory.

The first factor is attention or intention or remembering something and the other, interest. It is only if you have interest in a subject that you find it possible to create a heightened emotional state to help your concentration and memory. Memory can be enhanced by images; and the subconscious mind works well with images and feelings than with words and numbers.

Repeated exposure to information also helps in improving memory. Remember that your subconscious mind works better if it is relaxed. So don’t cloud your mind with distractions; instead try to relax and believe in the fact that you have a good memory that helps in your concentration too.

Hypnosis helps in improving your concentration and memory by reaching into your subconscious mind where you learn to develop, focus and sharpen your permanent memory. This permanent memory is a part of your subconscious mind, and on learning how to use the power of your subconscious mind, you find it possible to remember more details and to successfully recall them.

People think that being hypnotized makes you lose control on your bearings; however this is not true as while in a hypnotized state, you are pretty aware of your situation. You basically feel that you are half asleep and half awake when hypnotized where your mind is sharp and you are pretty well aware of your subconscious. This is why your mind can develop stronger memory and concentration through hypnosis.

With hypnosis, you are not only able to improve your concentration and memory. You can also use it to reduce the stress in your body and mind and use it to raise your self esteem and confidence. You can also use hypnosis to break bad habits while you develop new and healthy ones.

You can either use the help of a professional hypnotherapist or use self hypnosis to improve your memory. Whichever is your choice, you are sure of receiving the right tools to create the solid memory you were always looking for.

PostHeaderIcon An Introduction Into The Mesmerizing World Of Hypnotism

Everyone young and old is mesmerized by the magical world of hypnotism. This is something that fascinates one as it seems just magical that the hypnotist can gain control over the subject just by swinging pendulums and snapping fingers. However there is more to hypnotism than meets the eye!

Hypnotism is something that has fascinated mankind for a long time to come. The usual picture that accompanies hypnotism is of the hypnotist swinging a coin in front of the patient, after which the patient is hypnotized by the hypnotist. However this is not always the right way for one to hypnotize or get hypnotized.

The success for hypnotism lies in confidence. The hypnotist has to be confident enough of him being able to create hypnotism under any circumstance, on anyone. Basically, confidence is the one factor that determines the x factor for any hypnotist. It is only with oozing confidence is it possible for one to manipulate another person to follow whatever he suggests.

Confidence has never received the importance it requires in hypnotism. This is a factor that has been underestimated for some time as no one actually realizes the importance of confidence in hypnotism. However this does not mean that just because you have confidence, that you can just hypnotize a person by winking your eyes and saying a few dramatic sentences.

As a hypnotist, you have to exude the same confidence that a salesperson has who walks into your house, and talks you into buying something you never thought of buying, or don’t have a need of buying. Convincing you to buy a useless product is a form of indirect hypnosis where though you are not placed into a subconscious state, you end up in a hypnotic state with the salesperson’s talk and mannerisms.

This proves that the main thing that is needed in controlling another person or hypnotizing them is by having confidence in yourself. However this does not mean that it is possible for you to go up to a prospective subject and declare that you are a powerful hypnotist who has the power of hypnotizing them. They are sure not going to believe you when you say this. Though you should be confident enough to hypnotize a person, you also need lots of social proof of your caliber as a hypnotist.

This social proof is proof that states that you are a hypnotist where people know who you are, and have heard about what you enjoy doing. Remember, people tend to listen and believe people they know who have had experiences with you. So if you can get people to get to publicize the fact that you are a hypnotist, this will help you greatly in the long run.

So now if you look at hypnotism, you realize that there is basically nothing magical with hypnotism. It is basically the confidence of the hypnotist and you, the subject that helps the hypnotist into hypnotizing you by submissing yourself into the wonderful world of hypnotism.

PostHeaderIcon An Introduction To Clinical Hypnosis

It is possible to break your bad habits, improve your self confidence and health with the help of clinical hypnosis. You can approach a hypnotist, your doctor or follow books and CDs to experience the best effects of clinical hypnosis.

When you speak of clinical hypnosis, it is the science of communication with the subconscious mind with the intent of creating some behavioral changes. With the help of clinical hypnosis, it is possible to rectify any health, personal, appearance and even lifestyle problems one may be suffering from.

There are many people who practice hypnosis that range from physicians to hypnotists to hypnotherapists. Though hypnotists are the best people to help you improve your appearance and lifestyle problems, many a time, it is the qualified physician who has knowledge of hypnosis who can help you improve your health problems.

This is because your physician is the person who understands your body functions well and has a rough idea of what has to be done to improve your health problem. Remember, in the case of clinical hypnosis, what works for one person may not work on another person.

The reason many people today are turning to clinical hypnosis to rectify their personal problems is because this is a form of treatment which does not have any side effects. As long as you have the time, the hypnotist and the money, you can easily quit smoking, cure your alcoholism problem and get help with other psychological problems like depression, loss of self confidence and help in losing weight.

There are many people who are skeptical as to whether clinical hypnosis will really help you cure a problem. Basically, the time frame with which clinical hypnosis takes to bring results to a person suffering from a specific problem changes from person to person. So a person may quit smoking with the help of clinical hypnosis within 2-3 months while another person may take 6 months.

It all depends on the person’s health problem, determination and belief in hypnosis. When a person goes through hypnosis therapy, you find that your body and mind actually suffers some changes. These changes are of course not effective overnight. Both you and the hypnotist have to put lots of hard work and determination into stopping a bad habit or dealing with feelings of depression or self esteem.

Remember that you are not going through any form of brain washing with clinical hypnosis. It is just a means of engaging and convincing your mind and body in quitting bad habits and to accept this change in life.

If you find you don’t have the time to go to a hypnotist, you can always practice clinical hypnosis at home with the help of books, CDs and DVDs. You just have to follow the instructions stipulated in them; however don’t expect anything magical to happen in the first session. Maintain continuity in the sessions lest you have to start from the beginning again. If possible, attend a few professional sessions before you actually start taking these sessions at home so that you realize the actual effects from a professional.
